The National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty

The mission of the National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty is to prevent and end homelessness by serving as the legal arm of the nationwide movement to end homelessness. To achieve its mission, the Law Center pursues three main strategies: impact litigation, policy advocacy, and public education.

Results

Results is a non-profit organization who, “create long-term solutions to poverty by supporting programs that address its root causes — lack of access to medical care, education, or opportunity to move up the economic ladder.”

America’s Second Harvest

The mission of the Feeding America project is to feed America's hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger. It is the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization. Through a network of nearly 200 food banks, Second Harvest distributes food to 26 million hungry Americans each year.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a popular program where volunteers mentor a young student from animpoverished family. Studies have shown having a Big dramatically reduces the child’s chances to start drugs, skip school, or start fights.

ONE

ONE is a grassroots advocacy group with the goal of ending extreme poverty both in the United States and worldwide. While ONE does not fundraise, it raises awareness in people and lawmakers by posting timely alerts and petitions.

Children’s Defense

Children are the population most affected by a lack of basic needs. One of the primary goals of Children’s Defense is to put an end to childhood poverty, thus keeping the youth from ever entering the vicious cycle.
