7 Billion Actions

7 Billion Actions, a global movement for all humanity, was established by the United Nations Population Fund to highlight positive action by individuals and organizations and inspire others to join the movement. By the close of 2011, the global population will reach 7 billion. A world of 7billion has implications for sustainability, urbanization, access to health services and youth empowerment.

Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream

The Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium is supporting the shift in humanity, from a dream rooted in consumption and competition, to one of sustainability and mutuality.

Not In Our Town

While hate violence makes headlines, the positive actions of people across the country are creating a different story. NotInOurTown highlights the communities that are working together to stop hate. The videos and broadcasts on the NIOT website highlight and celebrate people who have developed creative anti-bias programs and responses.  These stories have motivated many others to develop their own innovative initiatives which overpower the hateful actions and voices in their communities.

Volunteers for Prosperity

The VfP program supports President Barak Obama’s U.S. Global Development Policy by mobilizing skilled Americans, including doctors, nurses, engineers, business people, and teachers, through a network of over 200 nonprofit organizations and companies in the United States, to carry out development efforts for those affected by great global challenges in heath, food security, the environment, poverty, illiteracy, financial literacy, disaster relief and other areas.

The World Volunteer Web supports the volunteer community by serving as a global clearinghouse for information and resources linked to volunteerism that can be used for campaigning, advocacy and networking. It is an online hub where the community can meet, share resources and coordinate activities to mobilize volunteer action.
